PetPointer

  • In a team of 3, this project was built to provide a general "pet score", in which a rating for the pet-friendliness of a given address is calculated based on 5 factors: proximity to parks, proximity to vets, proximity and number of pet services, the size of the property, and the noise level around the address provided. We created our own algorithm to calculate the pet scores. This Rails application utilizes 3 different APIs, Zillow, Yelp, and Google Geocoding, in addition to using javascript for an enhanced user experience.
